  • Are Permanent Cosmetics safe?
All supplies, tools and needles used are sterilized, ONE TIME USE ONLY. Everything on the tray is disposed of in a safe manner according to the county health department standards. Hospital grade disinfectants are used to clean and sterilize the procedure room/area. Masks are required. Please see the Treatment Care page to go over the cosmetic tattooing contradictions and ensure that you are a good candidate for Permanent Cosmetics.
  • Is it painful?
Most people report only feeling minor pressure or discomfort and less pain than a typical tattoo due to the use of highly effective anesthetics, before, during and after the procedure. Some level of discomfort should be expected, but everyone has a different threshold. Some may take a nap while others may feel more sensitive. It is advised to schedule before or after your menstrual cycle as you will be more sensitive during that time.
  • What is Microshading?
Microshading is a PMU technique that combines a soft powdery look (done with a single needle machine) with the appearance of real hair on the eyebrow area. We begin by creating chanels in the skin that look like lines of hair using a manual hand tool. Pigment is then implanted into these channels. A very fine needle containing 14 pins is used for this process. This helps create very precise and clean hair strokes. After the hair strokes are created, a machine with a single needle is used to create a soft powdery look in between the hair strokes for a fuller, softer more natural look. The results are as natural looking as real eyebrow hair. Microshading can be used to help correct brow shapes, give the appearance of full brows, and enhance your natural beauty by accenting your existing brows.
  • How long does it take?
The procedure itself can take anywhere from 1.5 - 2 hours from start to finish. This includes outlining and drawing the shape, numbing the brows, creating the strokes, and implanting the pigment.
  • How long does it last?
The longevity of permanent cosmetics vary from client to client. Generally, Eyebrows last up to 1-3 years whereas Eyeliner and Lips lasts 2-4 years. Results vary depending on client’s skin types, aftercare and lifestyles (sun exposure, chemical peels, exercise/sweat, smoking, etc.). On average most clients require a touch up session every 1-2 years. There are no guarantees as to how long your permanent cosmetics will last.
  • How long is the recovery?
There is no “downtime” with any permanent cosmetic procedure. You can go about your day normally go back to work right after the procedure. You may be slightly swollen or red, but this subsides fairly quickly. The only adjustments to be made post procedure are cleaning the area 4 times post procedure, and after the fourth time beginning the 14 day dry healing. Nothing on the brows for 14 days.
